Hello. This is Kkottongnae in Bangladesh.

We live together as a family of 27 members, ranging from elderly grandparents in their 80s to children as young as 7 years old.

Bangladesh is a place with many people living in poverty. We receive disabled children and elderly individuals several times a day. If they have parents or family, we explain the situation and send them back, but for those who are truly in need, we provide assistance so they can be taken care of within their homes.

We provide free meals and medical assistance at a train station located about an hour away from our home to welcome those returning from the streets. We prepare food for about 200 people and distribute it, offering medical treatment to those in need. To feed the homeless who are in dire need of food, we depart at around 11:30 PM and distribute the meals around 1 AM. Initially, we used to go around 7 PM, but as too many people gathered, making it uncontrollable, we had to suspend the distribution and adjust the timing to after midnight. During the cold winters, we distribute blankets to prevent hypothermia. Since the area around the train station is mostly slums, where most people live by begging, it seems that many of them come from these slums when we distribute blankets or clothes.

We are making efforts to create a shower facility near the train station for homeless individuals to come and take showers, change into clean clothes, and receive medical treatment before they leave. We plan to rent a house near the train station, dig a well, and establish a shower facility to provide medical care and meals. It seems we will need around USD 20,000 to rent the house and make the necessary preparations. The free meal distribution, which takes place every other Friday and as needed, costs about USD 300 each time we go. Calculating for a year, it amounts to USD 9,000. For the happiness of the Kkottongnae family and to ensure that no one has to return to the streets in loneliness, we pray and strive. Please pray with us and join us in this effort. We love you.

From the Kkot. Sisters and the Kkottongnae community in Bangladesh.
